The Book I'm About to Finish

This is the first Lehane novel that I have read. It is quite good. The opening scene with Babe Ruth on a train sucked me right in like a tractor beam. The characters are very interesting early on in the novel but grow kind of sappy as the novel wears on. But there are some really cool scenes of murder and fights, as well as some good mob violence. Plus the historical stuff is neat too. I recommend the book if you like violence, history, and baseball.

Welp, got over my brief stint with the influenza. I'm planning a trip in the near future to Las Vegas where I'm hoping to win a bunch of money and buy some Rolex watches. Also, I want to get either a BMW, Mercedes, Lambourghini, or Lexus with the money I win. I'd like to visit the Alps in Switzerland as well and maybe fly on the airline, United. Hopefully it is a Boeing or an Airbus model plane. I'd like my own Lear Jet though if that were possible. Welp, I'm going to finish watching Survivor on CBS television here. I think I'll drink this Dasani water and finish my Domino's Pizza. This Sleep Number bed sure is comfortable, our old one was a Tempurpedic but this new Sleep Number bed is just fantastic! "Sleep Happens!"

Tomorrow I'll drive my Lexus to work and maybe stop off at Starbucks for a cup of coffee. Then I'll come home and play my Nintendo Wii on my Sony 50" LCD 1080P Television.

If it was schtick then he is definitely a great actor. I know that Jebus blog broke this story but I'm here to offer a little commentary on the situation. I do hope it was part of a new movie he is working on and that it was an act, because if it wasn't then he is in serious trouble. And I do think he is an excellent actor. The beard looked fake upon close inspection. Dave and Paul were totally unconcerned and this is not their normal characteristic. It was an act! Casey Affleck is producing a mockumentary about Joaquin's retirement from acting.

The interview with Peter Gammons is pathetic. See it in full here. Gammons asks the tough questions and A-Rod skirts like a state legislator caught with a hooker. He admitted using 'substances' but blamed the 'culture' for him not knowing what he was putting into his body. (BS) The upcoming Hall inductions are going to consist of a lot of guys who got passed over (can you say Bill Buckner & Chili Davis?) while the steroid era players are forced to stand aside by the heritage minded baseball writers like Gammons. I don't really blame them at all. It'll be interesting to see who makes the hall first as a known steroid user. Dang, Babe Ruth hit 714 on cigars and whiskey, Hank Aaron hit 755 on oatmeal and milk!

Need a big month in Feb and March to finish Q1 strong.

Did I ever tell you about my idea for Chicken Chips? Essentially, you slice chicken very, very thin and season and deep fry it until crispy. Then coat it with all kinds of preservatives and what not and put it in a bag and sell it. I think it would be a huge hit.
